1. Details of our Camp
It’s not long now until 4,000+ Scouts, Venture Scouts , Guides, Scouters, and JamboRí Support Team from Ireland, and further afield, descend upon the grounds of Stradbally Hall, County Laois for JamboRí 2018.
We will be camping for 9 days (8 nights) from Wednesday 25th July to Thursday 2nd August 2018.
The week is jam-packed with awesome activities. The theme of JamboRí 2018 is Stories Begin Here. Each Sub-Camp has been named after a fictional place in literature or film. We hope all participants of JamboRí 2018, from Patrols and Venture Crews to Troop Scouters and JST, will get behind the theme of their Sub-Camp to bring their stories to life.
2. Gear List
We will be travelling in full uniform so it is advisable to wear your hiking boots. You must have the correct gear to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable camp.
Some people have asked about survival bag, these are available in most camping shops, e.g. -> Scout Shop We will be spending one night sleeping under the stars in the woods, with no tent so the survival bag is needed to ensure you are warm and dry.
It is also a good idea to have spare neckerchief(s). If you have any questions or think of anything that needs to be added to the list, let us know. It is essential that you have all the gear, please do not forget anything.
