Yo Ravens,
Marica from the “Swords needs Playgrounds” campaign was speaking with you at our meeting last night and has asked us to help out with the bucket collections.
The collections will be taking place in Swords main Street and the Pavilions and the days are the 14th, 15th and 16th of June. We are looking for as many Scouts as possible to help out with the collection so put the dates in your diaries!!
Thanks!
Grab your sun cream and bucket and spade cos we’re heading to the beach this evening!
We’re going to take advantage of the awesome weather and pay a trip to the beach later on. Uniforms are not needed but neckerchiefs are….. as always!
See you all later (at the usual time – 7pm)
Hi All,
a reminder that we will be taking part in the annual Ward River Clean-up tomorrow. We will be helping out the Swords Tidy Towns Committee. We will meet at 10.00am at the entrance to the Town Park across from the Castle Shopping Centre.
We will be finished by 2.00pm. We hope as many of you can make it as possible. Please wear your neckerchief and clothes which will get dirty.
We know a few of you will be heading off on holliers during the summer. Check out this airline safety video featuring a few Scouts and the UK Chief Scout (Bear Grylls)
Caw Caw Ravens,
We are busy little bees at this time of year! A few things to update you on :
There are 8 Scouts from Brackenstown heading down to Munster to take part in the MPC (Mountain Pursuit Challenge) in the Galtee mountains. If you want to know more about the MPC and are interested in future events check out their website here
Best of luck to all the lads (3 Ravens involved – Eoin, Conor and Callum)! REPRESENT!!
A reminder that we will be doing some backwoods cooking on Sunday at the Den.
We will be starting at 11am and finishing up at 3pm.
The competition is heating up as Stefanie’s lead is slashed to just 2 points!!!! James is catching up quickly and Danielle is only 1 point further back. Remember you can gain points be attending events, wearing full uniform, winning drill competition and completing badgework.
Check where you are on the leaderboard here
Well done to everyone who was recently awarded badges. You all put in great work and really earned your badges. Please make sure that you sew them on to your shirt and show them off with pride!!!
If you are unsure where to sew your badge check out the Badgework section of the website or click here
We will be holding our “Ermagherd Erm-ergencies Challenge” during Thursday’s meeting. We have worked our socks off over the past couple of months brushing up on our First Aid and Emergencies skills.
We will be holding a Patrol competition and presenting prizes to the winning Patrol.
Each Patrol will have to deal with an Emergency Scenario using your skills and knowledge learned during this “Ermagherd Erm-ergencies” programme cycle.
We are currently putting up a lot of resources in our “Emergencies” section of the Website. If you click on “Badgework” then “Adventure Skills” and “Emergencies” you will find tons of resources there. (Here’s a shortcut ->Emergencies )
