Hello All

No doubt you are all enjoying your day off thanks to the teachers striking. Its a pity the Teachers  never striked when any of the Leaders were in School.  Just a quick thanks to all of you who attended the weekend in Mountain Ventures Hostel, it was a great weekend and everybody behaved really well. Th Seniors did an excellent job getting as far as they did on their hike, Ian was really impressed with the enthusiasm showed by all the of you guys. The Juniors did excellent on their hike, the weather conditions  were a huge challenge. A number of the Junior Scouts should be very wary when we go on our next hike near water, revenge is sweet !!!!  Lisa should also be very very afraid. Well done to Rachel and Eoin for winning the best Hiker awards and Matthew for best Scout of the weekend. To Aidan and Gavin or was it Gavin and Aidan there was no competition to you at all.  Thanks to Michelle and Eva who made a special effort to come down on Saturday night.  Just a final word to let you all know that Conor is feeling a lot better.

By the way we have a new facebook page called, Brackenstown Raven Troop, there are pictures of the weekend on it.

Lisa will tell you all about it on Thursday.

See you all Thursday

Thursday 12 November

Hi all, a great hike on Saturday last, everybody seemed to enjoy themselves,  well done to you all especially our new Scouts, Tamara,  Ellen and Eoin.  Congratulations to Ciaran and all in the TARA Patrol, a clean sweep winning both the cooking challenge and this months Inter Patrol challenge, they managed this because of the very high standard of their Uniforms every week, well done and keep it up.

A couple of things to remember for this week, Subs are now due so if you have not yet paid,  please arrange to do so as soon as you can. All Scouts must return their 12 Days of xmas tickets this Thursday, whether they are sold or not. A special note for PL’s please make sure you bring down the folder which Ian supplied last Sunday.

We need to know the exact numbers for our weekend away on Friday 20th November returning at lunch time on Sunday 22nd,  so please discuss with your Parents and let us know this Thursday. There will be a fee for the weekend probably about € 20 per Scout, this covers transport, food and the hire of the hostel.

If you have any questions contact one of the Leaders.

News 06 November 09

Well done to all Patrols for your efforts during the Inter Patrol Cooking challenge last night.  Speaking to the Judges afterwards they were very impressed with the food that was servde up to them. It was a particular challenge to all when you take into account that we had a power cut for the last 45 minutes of the meeting. A special word of thanks to Garreth for the super job he did in cleaning the Kitchen after you guys had all gone home, a big thanks to Conor who also put in a special effort to clean up. Thankfully Ciaran found his steak Knife,  it was looking bad for him for a while ( private joke )

The results will be announced tomorrow on the hike, and speaking of the hike below are the details
