Website change

Hi folks,

I have added a new button to the site and taken a few away.

The scout competition is getting pretty difficult to manage on this site so I have put all the details on a excel sheet which can be downloaded by clicking the black button on the bottom right of the site. The leader board for patrol of the year will still be in the same place but the links at the top will be removed. Any questions ask me on Thursday.

Thanks, Ian.

Glenmalure Photos are now up

Hey everyone the pics are now up but they are not in the Gallery. There was so many of them that it would have taken me hours, literally, to resize and publish then on this site so stuck them on another site, called Flickr, that makes it easy to upload them.

You can see them by clicking on the link in the bottom right of this page. Cheers.

Important – Final Subs must be paid this week.

If you have not paid your full subs you must do so this week. All Scouts who were present on Thursday  07Feb08 were supplied with card showing your payments to date. Please make sure you bring your card whan paying subs or any other payments.  If you have any queries please contact a Leader.

Great Weekend

Many thanks to all of you for making the weekend in Glenmalure a great success.  I dont know about you lot but I was wrecked last night and this morning even after having a lie in ( any commnets about my age are prohibited) Congratulations to the Star Scouts for completing their goal of reaching the summit of Lugnaquilla. Also well done to the younger Scouts for their efforts on Saturday, it was a tough enough climb. We will definitely make a return visit to Glenmalure. Ian is looking for pictures to put on the site and for a poster so dont forget to send them to him. If you need his email text me and I will send to you.

p.s. dont forget there is no meeting this Thursday.

For a virtually uninhabited valley in south Wicklow, Glenmalure has played two big parts in Irish history, once in 1798 and once in 1580. The first scout to recount the history of the those two dates to Shay when we get to the hostel earns a bonus point for scout of the year competition. A good place to start is here.

The scout who can sing this song in its entirety gets five bonus points.
