As advised some time ago Annual Camp will take place in the Burren Outdoor Centre in County Clare. We are departing on Saturday 24th July and will return on Sunday 1st August. The cost per Scout will be € 250.00 each. This covers transport, camping fees, food and all your activities which will include Kayaking, caving, rock climbing and more. We hope that as many Scouts as possible will take part as it is the highlight of the Scouting year. You can start paying off installments right away. We will have a discussion about Camp at this weeks meeting to answer any questions. We have prepared a couple of answers to save you asking the questions. (A) yes the weather will be great (B) No, we are not staying in a hotel, we are camping. (C) No, You and your best friend cannot have a whole tent to yourselves,
We will have an information notice to bring home on Thursday, see you all then

What a weekend that was!!!! To all of you that came on the weekend a big thank you for a most enjoyable time. You were all fantastic, full of enthusiasm, full of energy and perfectly behaved. We have no doubt that we would have made the summit of Carrantoohil if it were not for the dangerously high winds at the ridge above the Devils ladder. Safety was and will always be the determining factor in everything we do. You guys did manage to get to a height of 1001 metres ( 3286 feet) that was an excellent achievement and i think when you all looked up and saw the distance you had travelled a sense of pride replaced any disappointment. You also cycled approx 12 kilometres around the Killarney national park on the Saturday afternoon after little or no sleep on the Friday night. Well done to all of you, particularly Sam who chose one of the toughest hikes in Ireland to be his first!!!
Enjoy the pictures, more will follow, if you have any you would like included contact one of the leaders.
see you all Thursday
