Interpatrol Update – Week 4

Top scorers in Week 4 were the Kestrels with a whopping 368 points. This was helped by the double whammy of Sarah and Stefanie cleaning up in the drill competition! How does this massive points haul affect the overall standings? Well, we have a new leader…….The Kestrels leapfrog the Merlins shooting into first place on a humongous total of 1413 points. The Merlins are not far off the lead, just 66.4 points behind with the Falcons a further 53.1 points back. As we have seen over the course of the Interpatrol competition there are buckets of points up for grabs, so keep up the good work!! Remember there are is 400 points up for grabs by organising a Patrol Activity……… this weekend is the last weekend to do it……. if you haven’t already!!

A reminder that the Annual Ready Steady Cook event will be taking place on the 29th March (this Saturday). Your Patrols will plan, purchase food, build an altar fire, maintain the fire and cook some tasty, delicious meals. Easy peasy!!!

Each meal will be judged by the most prestigious food critics in the World – your leaders, so we will expect the food to be of the highest standard. (If the last couple of years is anything to go by……… it will be fantastic)

The meals will be judged and your Patrol will earn points towards the Interpatrol competition

Annual Camp Details – Saturday 27th July – 3rd August

Yo Ravens,

Annual Camp 2013 has been booked. We had such an awesome time in Lough Keel last year that we’re gonna head back there. This is a fantastic campsite in Roscommon with great facilities. If you don’t believe me check it out here-> http://www.loughkeelcamp.com/index.htm

It will be a joint camp between ourselves and the Monday scouts so it’ll be great craic!
We will be spending a week on camp right in the middle of summer so we are (almost) guaranteed great weather! We’ll be staying there from Saturday 27th of July to 3rd August.

We’re hoping that a troop from Germany will also join us, they have yet to confirm if they can make it or not. In the spirit of the gathering and all that! (http://www.thegatheringireland.com/)

The camp site where we will be staying is very close to the Lough Key forest park. There is loads and loads of stuff to do in Lough Key (http://www.loughkey.ie/). We will have a jam packed camp, much like last year:

– Swimming in the Lake
– Rowing out to an Island on Lough Key and Bivying
– Zip Lines (http://www.zipit.ie/)
– Boda Borg (http://www.loughkey.ie/boda-borg/introduction.html)

We are looking into costs and hoping to keep it as low as possible and it will likely cost below the €200 mark. Camp bank is now open so you can start paying into it straight away!

So, that’s just a taste of what we will be doing, we will also be doing badgework so everyone on camp will be awarded badges so bring your sewing kits, your arms will be full of badges by the end of the camp!!

Please let us know if you will be coming along so that we can plan around the numbers. Let us know if you have any questions.

Here is the “Key” (see what I did there) info :
Where : Lough Key, Roscommon
When : Sat 27th July – Sat 3rd August
