There is a definite improvement in the standard of our uniforms. All Scouts must wear full uniform to the Troop meetings. The Uniform consists of the Shirt, Trousers, Neckerchief and woggle, Belt and black footwear or hiking boots.
Mobile phones must be handed up at start of meeting and collected at end. It is not good manners to be texting or listening to music while Leaders are trying to run the programme, so a bit of respect please.
The Leaders
All Scouts must wear full and perfect uniform to each Troop meeting. The uniform consists of Neckerchief, Shirt, Scout Trousers and Scout Belt. Black, navy shoes or hiking boots only. Please make an effort to have your neckerchief clean and properly folded. We will be starting an inter patrol competition shortly, details will be given to PL’s.

Hello All, hope you all had a good Summer and are looking forward to getting back to the Scouts
We are asking all Scouts to attend a special mass this Sunday 14th September. Please meet in the hall at 12.00 noon in full uniform for 12.30 mass. The mass is Father Dermots last in St Cronans and we want as many Scouts as possible to attend. Please make an effort as we will be making a presentation to him on behalf of our group and we need a good turnout. Make the effort with your uniform.
Our Troop meetings will resume on Thursday 18th September at 07.00 pm sharp. If you have photos from the Jamboree bring them along so we can all have a look at them. The Leaders are looking forward to seeing all you lot again and we know you feel the same !!!
See you Sunday
The Leaders
Hi all, just a few words to say thanks to you all for making the Jamboree such an enjoyable experience. a particular word of thanks for the way you all accepted the situation on Saturday and made it a memorable evening. The work that was put in on Sunday morning to strike camp was excellent. If you have any photos we will organise to get them to Ian and we will put up on the site. Troop meetings will start back in mid September. As we had to abandon our awards ceremony for the Jamboree due to the weather, we will present these on our first night back. So until then, stay safe and enjoy the rest of your holidays .
The Leaders
Hi all, only a few days to go before we depart for the Jamboree. Just some things to remember.
We are meeting at 07.30 am on Saturday at the hall. Dont be late, we have to pack the van and must be on the road asap.
You do not have to wear your uniform on Saturday Morning. Just your neckerchief and your Scout Tee Shirt if you have one.
Bring your Uniform in a plastic bag with your name on it, you definitely need it for Saturday’s opening ceremony.
The maximum amount of spending money you can bring is €150. You dont have to bring this much, but certainly dont bring anymore.
if you were not at the meeting with your Parents, please make sure you have filled out a Mdeical consent form and pass to one of the leaders.
If your family intend to visit on open day 6th August, they must advise names and Car Reg before we go, as they require passes for each person and the car.
You may bring along MP3’s and speakers, CD players ( battery operated) but remember they are your responsibility. If you have a radio bring it along, the Jamboree has its own FM station.
You can bring a mobile phone, they will be held by the leaders during the day and you can use for a while in the evenings.
Dont forget your Dracula costume for Romania day.
Remember we are camping so ditch all the fancy clothes, three quarter lenghts and shorts are the dress for camp.
Put your name on everything.
The Dubs play in the All Ireland 1/4 final on Saturday 9th so bring your flags and Jerseys and we will decorate our site.
Bring whistles, drums, any thing that makes noise, these are required for the opening ceremony.
And lastly bring along your best mood, leave all those Teenage and pre-teen whinges behind, We are going on holidays.
check the site over the next couple of days for any updates.
