It’s the final countdown……
We will be meeting at the Den on Saturday at 10am and hitting the road for Castle Saunderson shortly afterwards. We will be travelling in full uniform and it is advisable to wear your hiking boots to save space in your bag.
A reminder of the personal each Scout should have:
If you have them:
Best of luck to everyone doing The Junior or Leaving or any exams at all over the coming weeks. Your hard work will pay off! But don’t forget their are many ways to achieve our goals.
Scouting asks that we do our best, and your best will be always good enough for us!!
Hi all,
Uniform is not needed for tonight’s meeting (just necker)
See you all later!

Hi all,
hope everyone is enjoying the Easter holliers. A reminder that we’ve no meeting tonight or next Thursday.
We’ll be back in action on Thursday 27th
Our 4 patrols competed against each other in our annual Ready Steady Cook cooking competition. There was an extremely high standard of food produced, it was scrumdiddlyumptious!
We had a fantastic day on Ireland’s Eye. We caught the boat across from Howth harbour and explored the island in the blazing sun!
Hi all,
A reminder about this weekends activities. We will be setting sail to Ireland’s Eye tomorrow and competing in the annual Ready Steady Cook competition on Sunday. Full details are below.
Ireland’s Eye – Saturday 8th 10.15am
We will be meeting at the Den at 10.15am tomorrow morning and heading out to Howth. From there we will jump on a ferry and sail across to Ireland’s Eye. We will explore the island, now a bird sanctuary, which has a rugged coast with a free standing rock formation known as ‘The Stack’. Large numbers of guillemots, terns, gannets, razorbills, cormorants and puffins nest around the shore. We plan to be back at the Den at approx. 4pm
You will need:
Ready Steady Cook – Sunday 9th at 10.00am – 1.30pm
Each patrol will be challenged to prepare a 3 course meal, enough for 2 people on a budget of €15. The meals will be cooked on fires.
Patrols always produce a high standard of yummy grub every year at the Ready Steady Cook competition. If the presentation of menus, and questioning/”grilling” by other scouts at yesterday’s meeting is anything to go by….this year may be the best yet!
