First Meeting back – Thursday 22nd September
Fingal County Camp

Hi all,
We hope you all had an awesome summer and are sure that you are all delighted to be back in school!!!
We will be back to Scouts next week on Thursday 15th September (7pm – 9pm). See you all then…. in full uniform
A selection of photos from an amazingly unforgettable camp…. jam packed with a wide variety of activities – caving, gorge walking, cooking on fires, camping, boat trip to Inis Mór, cycling to Dun Aengus, 4 scouts invested on Dun Aengus, visit to Galway city, abseiling, raft building to name but a few!
A big thank you to all the scouts and leaders who made Annual camp 2016 an unforgettable experience.
Everyone got stuck in which made the whole week a totally awesome and enjoyable camp.
Here are just a couple of photos…… many, many more to follow!
……it’s the final countdown! Last chance to check the gear list for annual camp.
We’ll be meeting tomorrow morning at 10.30am in full uniform.
See you all then!
We will be camping at a campsite in Petersburg Outdoor Education Centre, Co.Galway. We’ll be spending 7 days (6 nights) on camp. Sunday 10th July – Saturday 16th July. We will be meeting at 10.30am on Sunday morning……
The week is jam-packed with awesome activities….swimming, raft building, water activities, cycling, trip to Aran Islands, gorge walking, abseiling, caving, bivvying (sleeping under the stars), fire lighting, cooking, trip to Galway city, camping and much much more!!
There will be a total of 33 Scouts and 7 leaders travelling.
We will be travelling in full uniform so it is advisable to wear your hiking boots. You must have the correct gear to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable camp.
Some people have asked about survival bag, these are available in most camping shops, e.g. -> Scout Shop We will be spending one night sleeping under the stars on an island, with no tent so the survival bag is needed to ensure you are warm and dry.
It is also a good idea to have spare neckerchief(s). If you have any questions or think of anything that needs to be added to the list, let us know. It is essential that you have all the gear, please do not forget anything.
If you have them:

Accommodation, food and all activities are already paid for so you can bring some spending money for sweets, treats and souvenirs. The maximum amount that you can bring is €40.
We will do the usual procedure with phones. Phones will be handed up to leaders at the start of camp. You will all be too busy doing amazing activities to use them anyway! Scouts can then use their phones every second day.
Leaders will have their phones on them in case any parents need urgent contact, the numbers are:
Shay – 086 8061 847
Dave – 085 7202 963
Sorcha – 087 9146 022
Lisa – 085 2242 367
