France update 16July11
Hi all, now that our luggage is on its way to France, its time to concentrate on getting ourselves there. We will meet at 12.noon in Terminal 1, there is a check in area 5 which has a bit of space in front of it, so we will meet there. You should wear your Tee shirt, Neckerchief, Scout Trousers, black/navy shoes or hiking boots, please do not wear sneakers/runners. Remember you can only have 1 piece of hand luggage, so make sure everything fits in your day bag, dont carry any drinks with you, they will be taken off you at security. You will have some spare time once we clear security and you can buy drinks / sweets etc, so if you have a small amount of your own money, you can bring it to spend.
If you have any questions give one of the leaders a shout.
see you all on Tuesday

France – update 12 July 11
Hi all, dont forget you must bring your packed case/haversack down to the hall on Friday evening at 7pm. It will be loaded onto the bus and you will not see it again until we arrive at our destination.
We have ordered the T shirts and may have them by Friday evening, if so we will ditribute them at that time. Each Scout will be issued with 1 T shirt for travelling over and back, if you wish to purchase a second one there will be a charge of € 12.50. You can wait until you see the T shirts then make up your mind.
Can you please return any oustanding medical and consent forms on Friday, also we will collect Passports and E 1-11 cards.
If you wish, you can also bring along your spending money, place it in an envelope ( not brown) with your name and the amount clearly written. Please try to get smaller value notes. Remember when you are asking for your spending money, its most likely your parents have paid for your trip and all your activities and food etc are paid for !!!
if you have any questions, leave a message or send a text
when you read this, please pass on the information to others that are travelling
see you Friday

eclaireurs raven bonjour
Just a reminder that you will also need to bring 2 tea towels for use in the House, not sure you will get them back so dont bring the best ones from your House. We have tried to get Brackenstown neckerchiefs from the Scout shop but they are completely out of stock, see if you can borrow an extra one for Camp as it looks like they will not have them in stock before we go.

Gearlist for France
Yo Ravens, this is a listing of gear you will need for Annual Camp in France.
You will all have most of this gear already, remember this is Annual Camp and is an activity based holiday, so therfore it is unwise to bring your brand new designer clothes. There are no catwalks on the campsite!
Right so, here is the list.
Firstly, we will not be bringing our Uniforms, you will have to wear your neckerchief at all times so make sure you bring a couple and also spare woggles.
Hiking boots
Runners (old for water sports)
A few changes of clothes
Good waterproof raincoat with hood
Rain trousers
Spare socks, underwear
Warm fleece , jumper, although its summer !!!
Pyjamas
Swim gear (only speedos or short swimming shorts because the French don’t let you into water parks with normal shorts)
Towel
Sun cream
Medications, to be handed to Leaders
Insect repellant
personal first aid kit
Toiletries
A bed sheet/sleeping bag liner. (not a sleeping bag)
Water bottle
Torch
A few black bags
Whistle
Camera
A small day bag
All in a normal bag not a rucksack because it will be easier to load the bus.
if you have any questions leave a comment.
