news – news – news 16DEC09

Hi all,  dont forget tomorrow night is the Scout disco in Lusk. We are meeting at the hall at 08.00 PM.  Its an opportunity to wear all your trendy gear and then top it off by wearing your neckerchief.  It will probably be late around 11 before you are home so we will drop each Scout to their house.  The more Scouts from our Troop that go the more fun it will be,  so make the effort to come along, its not every day you get to see Ian doing his Michael jackson moonwalk!!!

VERY Important ! Dont forget the collection for St Vincent De Paul, please bring along any of the items that were mentioned on the note last week or on the previous post on this site.

We are planning to go to the Panto in the Olympia ( Robin Hood ) during the week after Christmas, just waiting to finalise a date and will let you know as soon as we can.

See you all at 8 PM tomorrow night, dont forget your neckerchiefs

Important

Our Venturer Section have decided to make an effort to help St Vincent De Paul this Christmas. They are looking for donations of any of the following in new condition:

Toys for young children, Teddies and soft toys, board and card games, colouring books, pens , pencils etc.

Tins of biscuits or sweets. All non perishable food so they can make hampers for distribution.

You may bring any of these down to the Scout hall on our Troop meeting night or any Morning.

This is a great idea from the Venturers and they deserve our support. This week instead of buying something that you dont really need, think about those in our community that are not as lucky as we are and buy something to donate to St Vincent de Paul.

Hello All

No doubt you are all enjoying your day off thanks to the teachers striking. Its a pity the Teachers  never striked when any of the Leaders were in School.  Just a quick thanks to all of you who attended the weekend in Mountain Ventures Hostel, it was a great weekend and everybody behaved really well. Th Seniors did an excellent job getting as far as they did on their hike, Ian was really impressed with the enthusiasm showed by all the of you guys. The Juniors did excellent on their hike, the weather conditions  were a huge challenge. A number of the Junior Scouts should be very wary when we go on our next hike near water, revenge is sweet !!!!  Lisa should also be very very afraid. Well done to Rachel and Eoin for winning the best Hiker awards and Matthew for best Scout of the weekend. To Aidan and Gavin or was it Gavin and Aidan there was no competition to you at all.  Thanks to Michelle and Eva who made a special effort to come down on Saturday night.  Just a final word to let you all know that Conor is feeling a lot better.

By the way we have a new facebook page called, Brackenstown Raven Troop, there are pictures of the weekend on it.

Lisa will tell you all about it on Thursday.

See you all Thursday
